Lead software engineer focused on Developer Experience (DevEx) to scale On's engineering organization. You will architect and build the Golden Path with automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), GraphQL infrastructure, an Internal Developer Platform, and robust SRE/observability, driving faster, safer, and more autonomous development across dozens of teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and implement highly automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and common templating (Typescript/Node) systems that allow a developer to go from idea to production-ready service in minutes.
•Act as a core contributor to our central Apollo GraphQL API Gateway; help manage supergraph composition, runtime stability, and schema governance standards.
•Help develop the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) including Cloud Abstraction Layer and Developer Portal; build self-service tools, CLIs, and service catalogs.
•Integrate secure-by-default practices and robust observability into the platform; build dashboards (NewRelic) and monitoring patterns for deep service health insights.
•Write high-quality documentation, assist with code reviews, and advocate for DevEx best practices across the organization.

Key Requirements

•Experience designing and implementing highly automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and templating systems (Typescript/Node) to enable developers to go from idea to production-ready service quickly.
•Strong knowledge of GraphQL, Apollo GraphQL API Gateway, and federation concepts; ability to contribute to schema governance and runtime stability.
•Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes); familiarity with GCP is a plus.
•Experience building developer tooling and self-service platforms (CLIs, SDKs, portals) to reduce cognitive load for engineers.
•Passion for DevEx, documentation, code reviews, and advocating best practices across teams.
