Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures for pediatric, adult, pregnant, and geriatric patients.
  • •Verify patient information and test requests; select appropriate collection equipment and techniques.
  • •Collect, label, process, store, and prepare blood, urine, and other specimens accurately and safely.
  • •Ensure correct sample quality and quantity while following infection control, aseptic, and laboratory safety procedures.
  • •Manage STAT, scheduled, and outpatient specimen collection requests and maintain accurate documentation; escalate significant issues to the healthcare team.

Key Requirements

  • •Completion of an approved phlebotomy certification program and/or a minimum 6-month program in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
  • •Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience as a Phlebotomist.
  • •Valid DOH or DHA license as a Phlebotomist, or eligibility for the relevant license.
  • •Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • •Strong knowledge of phlebotomy procedures, specimen collection and handling, laboratory safety, and relevant regulatory requirements.
