Job Summary

Lead the mechanical R&D design of complex, high-precision components and assemblies for advanced semiconductor equipment. Own materials decisions and performance under demanding environments, using expertise in GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and precision engineering. Collaborate with manufacturing, machining vendors, suppliers, metrology, and quality teams to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and resolve shop-floor issues. Create 3D models and engineering drawings, and support prototyping, validation, and material performance evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead mechanical design of complex, high-precision components and assemblies with robust functionality, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.
•Serve as materials authority for mechanical components by evaluating materials (metals, alloys, coatings, composites, polymers) and their performance under demanding environments.
•Own technical decisions for materials, finishes, coatings, and critical tolerances using GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
•Guide and mentor junior engineers on materials usage, DFM, machining practices, drawing standards, and engineering best practices.
•Oversee design reviews, manufacturability assessments, and resolution of complex shop-floor issues; develop 3D models, drawings, and documentation; support prototypes and validation testing.

Travel: Low travel

Salary: EUR 84,800 - 116,600 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
•10+ years of experience in mechanical design with high precision manufacturing industries (e.g., semiconductors, optical systems, aerospace, robotics).
•Deep technical expertise in materials behavior and mechanical properties for high precision applications.
•Proven precision machining experience covering tooling considerations, tolerancing, and manufacturability optimization.
•Strong shopfloor experience with machining, metrology, or assembly; exposure to supplier and manufacturing partner collaboration.
