Key Responsibilities

  • •Directly manage and develop a team of Laboratory Systems Scientists for laboratory systems implementation, process engineering, validation, and operational support.
  • •Coach and mentor the team with performance management, career development, and resource/prioritization planning.
  • •Lead implementation and optimization of laboratory systems, including automation platforms, laboratory software solutions, assay workflow changes, and operational infrastructure.
  • •Oversee technology transfer and operational rollout of new assays, platforms, workflows, software solutions, and clinical partnerships; ensure user adoption, training, and readiness.
  • •Apply Lean and process engineering to improve efficiency, identify bottlenecks/risks via performance data, and lead root-cause investigations with corrective actions.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • •8+ years of relevant laboratory experience in diagnostics or life sciences.
  • •4+ years of direct people management experience leading technical or operational teams.
  • •3+ years in regulated laboratory environments (CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH, GxP, or ISO 13485/15189).
  • •Expertise leading validation/verification/PQ studies and laboratory systems/process optimization, including automation or software integration (NGS experience preferred).
