Job Summary

Perform preliminary and detailed structural stress analysis to support the design and development of electric actuation systems and subsystems. Use classical and computational methods across concept, prototyping, manufacturing, integration, verification testing, and production support. Collaborate with a multi-functional team to plan and manage analysis workloads, develop new capability, produce customer-facing technical reports, and support failure investigations. Onsite in Wolverhampton with <10% international travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform preliminary sizing analysis and support conceptual design for electric actuation systems and associated subsystems.
•Deliver classical and computational structural analysis using mechanical component models and stress calculations.
•Produce technical reports and summaries for internal and external customers across design, integration, test, and production phases.
•Assist in developing new stress analysis capability to support engineering technology roadmaps and new business opportunities.
•Support failure reporting, corrective actions, investigative deep dives, and collaborate with the local and global stress analysis team.

Key Requirements

•Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
•Demonstrated stress analysis experience across product life cycle activities.
•Working knowledge of classical stressing methods (e.g., Shigley, Peterson, Bruhn) and strength of materials including static and fatigue calculations.
•Working knowledge of structural FEA, including linear, non-linear material analysis, and contact/assembly model analysis.
•Ability to derive margins of safety and support failure investigations with strong written and oral communication.
