Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership and managerial support within the Programme area of access and benefit sharing (ABS) and ensure efficient execution of work.
  • •Develop and propose policies and strategies for synergistic implementation of the PIP Framework and the WHO Pandemic Agreement, including components of the Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing (PABS) System.
  • •Collaborate with HQ, Regional, and Country Offices to advise on development and implementation of the PIP Framework for strengthening technical capacity globally.
  • •Manage the programme area by overseeing the PIP Framework Secretariat, partnership contribution resources, and work planning to optimize deliverables.
  • •Oversee advance supply agreements and partnership contribution collection/use plans; convene the PIP Advisory Group and ensure systematic, evidence-based reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced university degree (Master’s level) in law, with admission or certification to practice law (e.g., bar exam, law society).
  • •Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional legal experience in an international, governmental, or intergovernmental context.
  • •Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, licensing agreements, or public-private partnership agreements.
  • •Proven dispute resolution experience, including international arbitration, mediation, or handling contract-related disputes with multiple stakeholders.
  • •Experience managing human and financial resources within cross-disciplinary and multicultural environments.
