Job Summary

Support cokemaking operations at the EES Coke Battery facility in River Rouge by partnering with plant personnel in the field and office. Help maintain ongoing operational and maintenance activities, identify and manage projects to improve operations, and respond to emergent issues. Coordinate documentation for process and equipment changes, work with onsite lab teams for monitoring and troubleshooting, and facilitate internal and external customer communications related to product quality.

Key Responsibilities

•Understand the cokemaking process, including raw material receipt/conversion, byproduct treatment/capture, and product delivery to customers.
•Apply engineering principles to critical equipment and unit operations to support ongoing operations.
•Develop project scope and budgets, coordinating with consultants and/or outside engineering firms as needed.
•Document process changes and equipment repairs affecting plant operations and maintenance for startup and reference.
•Coordinate with onsite lab personnel to monitor raw materials, product quality, and process fluids; support troubleshooting and customer communications.

Key Requirements

•BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited university.
•At least one year of related engineering experience, preferably in a coke plant, chemical or petrochemical manufacturing facility, or other heavy industrial setting.
•Strong communication skills, including ability to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Experience implementing process safety management (PSM) practices.
•Experience with data historian (e.g., AVEVA PI) and CMMS software (e.g., Maximo).
