Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide day-to-day support delivering concept studies/strategies and transport planning outputs, including leading planning applications and post-permission condition work.
  • •Support development proposals through the planning process by advising on access, transportation, and infrastructure issues for residential and mixed-use projects.
  • •Manage and lead collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues, and staff to secure high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
  • •Keep up-to-date with relevant standards and policies; network and attend conferences to raise WSP’s profile.
  • •Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements, including mentoring and guidance to technical staff as appropriate.

Key Requirements

  • •A numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related subject.
  • •Significant experience delivering a wide range of transport planning projects across development planning, scheme delivery, sustainable transport and active travel, including junction design.
  • •A working knowledge of junction modelling software, for example Junctions 9 (PICADY & ARCADY) and Linsig, with experience mentoring others and interpreting results.
  • •Experience managing projects financially and programme-wise using appropriate business tools.
  • •Team management responsibilities, including line management and day-to-day operations; and a strong track record presenting compelling written work supporting development proposals.
