Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and manage maglev compressor design through engineering design release using the Trane Technologies formal stage gate process.
  • •Identify and request engineering personnel needed for the project team.
  • •Collaborate with system engineering, controls, heat exchanger, product, manufacturing, and other teams to ensure seamless compressor integration.
  • •Coordinate purchasing, machining, inspection, build, and testing of prototype compressors for lab validation; provide project updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • •Transfer the design to the production implementation team and provide support as needed.
Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related engineering discipline and at least 10 years of experience in engineering and/or project leadership.
  • •Ability to travel domestically and abroad up to one month at a time, dependent on project needs.
  • •Broad understanding of maglev compressors and their integration into the HVAC system.
  • •Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills, including documentation and presentations.
  • •Ability to adjust project strategy based on risks, design tradeoffs, schedule, budget, product costs, and reliability; able to mentor less experienced team members.
