Key Responsibilities

  • •Handle monthly end-to-end payroll activities, including collating/validating inputs, outputs, and statutory reporting for the Japanese market.
  • •Improve and implement payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • •Support payroll and benefits processes in line with new policies or changes to laws and regulations.
  • •Provide payroll reporting and analysis to the finance team and support internal/external audits.
  • •Manage payroll vendors, adhering to contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Requirements

  • •Fluency in Japanese and English for daily work with Japan-market employees and English-speaking stakeholders.
  • •3 years of experience in in-house payroll operations.
  • •Strong functional knowledge of payroll and Japanese payroll/tax requirements.
  • •Track record of high-standard payroll verification and checking.
  • •Experience with legal/compliance audits in payroll (e.g., income taxes, statutory social securities).
