Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead pyrometallurgical process scopes from early concept development and thermodynamic modeling through procurement, detailed engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and ramp-up.
  • •Develop heat and material balances for high-temperature process trains, including unit operations such as drying, calcination, roasting, reduction, smelting, converting, refining, and off-gas treatment.
  • •Design and validate thermal process flowsheets and PFDs/P&IDs to ensure safety, reliability, and scalability.
  • •Build first-principles thermodynamic and kinetic models for high-temperature reactors and furnaces to support scale-up and commercial deployment.
  • •Collaborate across R&D, lab, pilot-plant, environmental, controls, and software/ML teams to translate findings into robust designs and enable automation, advanced control, and digital-twin optimization.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong engineering fundamentals with proven ability to solve challenging problems through engineering judgment.
  • •A strong foundation in chemical, metallurgical, or process engineering applied to complex pyrometallurgical systems.
  • •Experience with equipment engineering and design, including brownfield modifications/upgrades and greenfield design of integrated process circuits.
  • •Experience troubleshooting, evaluating, and optimizing operating pyrometallurgical or chemical-process equipment.
  • •Experience in pyrometallurgical mineral processing/metal refining, critical-minerals/battery-materials production, or EPC/EPCM projects supporting mining and mineral processing.
