Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Develop high-performance mechanical designs for leading edge circuit packs and optical plugs across Ciena’s telecom platforms, balancing high-density and thermal constraints. Create part/assembly designs, engineering documentation, and maintain design databases while collaborating with systems, hardware, operations, and product teams. Lead DFMA-based manufacturability improvements, perform prototype/first-sample evaluations with First Piece Evaluation reports, and present technical design reviews to manage risk and alignment to project timelines.
