Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide clinical pharmacy services to the hospital.
  • •Initiate and implement the Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme and enhance appropriate use of antimicrobials.
  • •Provide information on pharmaceutical utilisation, trends, strategies, and medication to the hospital.
  • •Mitigate and support management of pharmaceutical risks in the hospital.
  • •Ensure accurate dispensing where applicable and develop patient treatment plans.

Key Requirements

  • •MPharm or a relevant postgraduate degree in Clinical Pharmacy.
  • •2–3 years’ experience as a Clinical or Ward Pharmacist.
  • •Experience in managing an Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme.
  • •Knowledge of antimicrobial stewardship processes and procedures, and relevant pharmacy legislation (e.g., Pharmacy Act; Good pharmacy practice; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965).
  • •Experience developing pharmaceutical guidelines and protocols and applying quality improvement methodologies.
