Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the Employment Law Function and direct employment-law compliance and risk management for SEA and NAHQ divisions.
  • •Manage investigations and agency matters (e.g., EEOC, state civil rights divisions), including responding to, mediating, and negotiating pre-litigation claims.
  • •Develop, improve, and implement employment-law policies and processes (e.g., termination reviews, reasonable accommodations, leave management) and update the employee handbook.
  • •Lead the Employment Practices team by setting priorities, processes, policy documents, and trainings.
  • •Advise HR and stakeholders on performance improvement, discipline, terminations, wage and hour exemptions, pay equity, FLSA compliance, accommodations, FMLA/leave compliance, and reporting obligations; handle threatened litigation and EPLI claim processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited US Law School with 10-15 years of experience.
  • •Member in good standing of one US state bar, and ability to become member in good standing of TX bar or qualify as in-house counsel in TX.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated stakeholder management across diverse constituencies.
  • •Experience appearing before state and federal agencies on employment matters and counseling employers on employment and labor matters.
  • •Experience leading a team of legal and employment practice personnel, including wage and hour audits.
