Build and maintain GitLab’s People Technology automation ecosystem, owning code, pipelines, and integrations that connect Workato, Google Cloud, Claude, Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and internal tools. Use Ruby and GitLab CI/CD practices to standardize architecture, apply AI/LLM accelerators and MCP frameworks, and guide engineering decisions with cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the design, development, and maintenance of People system automations and integrations across Workato, Google Cloud, Claude, Workday, Greenhouse, and GitLab.
•Build and maintain integrations between Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and internal tools using Workday Web Services (WWS) and Slack’s API/Bot SDK, diagnosing failures proactively.
•Write, version, and maintain automation code in Ruby stored in GitLab with documentation, code reviews, and disciplined change management.
•Develop and manage Slack apps and bots to deliver automated workflows that reduce friction for People teams and employees.
•Maintain CI/CD pipelines for People system automation, leverage AI/LLMs and MCP frameworks to accelerate development, and provide technical guidance across engineering and stakeholders.

Salary: USD 126,400 - 213,600 annually

Key Requirements

•Hands-on experience writing and maintaining code in Ruby (or comparable scripting languages like Python or PHP), with maintainable code and documentation.
•Deep expertise in Workato (or a comparable enterprise automation/integration platform) building reliable, scalable production workflows.
•Strong experience integrating with Workday using Workday Web Services (WWS) and handling edge cases with durable, observable integrations.
•Experience building Slack apps and automations using Slack’s API and Bot SDK that deliver usable workflows.
•Proficiency with Git and GitLab for version control and CI/CD, plus familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS and Docker/Kubernetes for running automation services.
