Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory programs are followed and documented; verify USDA compliance and lead investigations into product issues with corrective actions and support audits/system assessments.
  • •Prevent HACCP and SSOP failures by partnering with FSQA and Operations teams on training, quality planning, and process controls to drive continuous improvement.
  • •Assess raw materials, conduct production tests, collect/analyze data, troubleshoot upstream process issues, and collaborate across departments to optimize yield, safety, and quality.
  • •Manage the sanitation program, including writing regulatory documents, verifying sanitation effectiveness via micro sampling, responding to negative shelf-life/micro data, and leading GMP and sanitation audits while training staff.
  • •Maintain and reassess the SQF Quality Plan, communicate system updates, manage FSQA personnel performance and schedules, and support the ongoing integrity of the SQF system.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years of relevant food industry experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • •Experience acting as a lead through training/coaching/mentoring less experienced staff or managing a process or project.
  • •Ability to complete required applicable forms in English, including reading and writing in English.
  • •Hands-on experience with microbiological testing of meat and poultry products, plus knowledge of foodborne pathogens and microbiological/limited chemistry testing.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of USDA, FSIS, HACCP, and SSOP requirements, familiarity with QMS systems, and experience with SAP and database/inventory software tools.
