Job Summary

Join WSP’s market-leading Infrastructure Planning Team, supporting town planning and consenting inputs on major, nationally significant infrastructure projects. You’ll take responsibility for planning and consent elements (including DCOs/DNSs/TWAOs), provide technical advice to clients, coordinate and submit applications under relevant planning regimes, and support negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders. Work across multidisciplinary teams, supervise others’ delivery, and contribute to knowledge sharing and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

•Support and take responsibility for town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs etc).
•Provide technical advice to clients and support managing clients’ consenting requirements.
•Coordinate preparation and submission of consent applications under relevant planning regimes (including Town and Country Planning Acts and the Planning Act 2008).
•Support negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
•Engage with multidisciplinary teams, supervising others’ work/project delivery and contributing to internal knowledge base.

Key Requirements

•Degree-level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
•Member of (or eligible for) the RTPI.
•Demonstrable experience securing consent and approvals for major or nationally significant infrastructure projects.
•Experience supporting town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs etc).
•Experience coordinating consent applications and providing technical advice to clients and managing their consenting requirements.
