Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide fire-fighting and rescue services by carrying out fire line duties and keeping equipment in good condition.
  • •Respond to structural and wild fire events and all emergency incidents (fires, road accidents, floods, bomb threats, spillages, air crashes, etc.).
  • •Rescue trapped people and animals; handle venomous and non-venomous snakes and other reptiles safely.
  • •Provide first aid and basic life support to injured employees on the mine site.
  • •Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and testing of ERT rescue equipment, firefighting equipment, and fire/ambulance vehicles; support fire-safety standards and drills/training.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12 certificate with a credit in English and Mathematics.
  • •Basic Fire Fighter or equivalent FF1, FF2 or IFE Level 2 certificate.
  • •Class C Driver’s License.
  • •Leading fire fighter, SCBA, vehicle extrication, or similar fire and rescue qualifications (e.g., BLS, rope rescue level 1) are required/desired.
  • •At least 1-year experience in a relevant field, preferably in the mining industry.
