Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and sustain seat belt systems across the product lifetime, from specification through drawing release, validation, ramp up, manufacturing support, and post SOP maintenance.
  • •Drive technical excellence and meet economical, timing, and quality targets for seatbelt projects.
  • •Collaborate with design and engineering teams to define optimal restraint system packages for occupant protection and interior styling.
  • •Provide requirements and conceptual designs for reaction forces, displacements, keep out zones, and related guides/brackets for internal teams.
  • •Manage Tier 1 suppliers, support restraint integration, and contribute to crash tests and vehicle homologation using CAE and test inputs.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals including mechanics of materials, materials properties, dynamics, and biomechanics related to occupant safety and failure mechanics.
  • •5+ years of related seatbelt/restraint system development experience with the autonomy to drive seatbelt projects.
  • •CAD skills to package component models into the vehicle environment and define/interfaces for interfacing hardware such as brackets and fixtures.
  • •Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • •Experience with seatbelt product development and system integration at an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier, plus knowledge of regulatory and consumer test requirements is preferred.
