Job Summary

Lead fieldwork and heritage advice within the Cultural Heritage and Archaeology team, managing projects from planning and consent through to bespoke archaeological strategies and delivery. Oversee subcontractors and technical deliverables (including RAMS), develop tender scope and methodology, and contribute to desk-based assessments. Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, curators, and clients, while pursuing business development and marketing opportunities to grow the team’s service offering.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead archaeological fieldwork projects from planning and consent applications through delivery of bespoke strategies and works.
•Develop competitive tenders by designing scope and methodology for archaeological fieldwork in line with WSP health and safety protocols.
•Monitor and assure the work of WSP-approved fieldwork subcontractors, including onsite review and technical review of deliverables (RAMS).
•Produce or contribute to archaeological desk-based assessment.
•Undertake stakeholder, curator, and client liaison, and pursue business development and marketing opportunities.

Key Requirements

•Experience managing archaeological fieldwork projects, including project, financial, and staff management.
•Robust knowledge of Ireland archaeology and history, plus full knowledge of planning processes and relevant environmental/heritage legislation and guidance in Ireland.
•Experience across heritage and planning, masterplanning, heritage conservation, heritage-led regeneration, recreation and tourism, heritage sustainability masterplanning, placemaking, and business development.
•Excellent writing skills and strong communication with the ability to work well as a team player.
•Motivated, conscientious, and efficient; able to meet deadlines and manage budgets in a busy consultancy environment.
