Key Responsibilities

  • •Demonstrate trial advocacy skills independently as lead counsel or as part of a team in accordance with Nationwide Trial Division methodology and claims/client expectations.
  • •Manage a productive caseload with proactive case management and work product quality, with low to moderate managerial oversight.
  • •Use technology and collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient case management, productivity, and updates.
  • •Provide factually, legally, and analytically sound opinions for case valuations, promptly communicating updates to clients and claims.
  • •Stay aware of changes to law, technology, local rules, and procedural requirements impacting litigation and liability/recovery strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • •Maintain an active license in the state where the position is located.
  • •Typically more than three years of relevant civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
  • •Moderate property and casualty insurance defense/subrogation litigation experience and strong legal research and analytical skills.
