Key Responsibilities

  • •Create cost estimates for HVAC Controls projects including materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities to support account managers in bidding or pricing.
  • •Develop detailed scope from design-build scope or plans/specifications for competitive bidding via contracting channels.
  • •Produce detailed cost estimates with system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, and vendor/subcontractor quote inputs.
  • •Perform take-off and pricing for purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, and options.
  • •Hold pre-bid meetings with account managers; identify cost-saving opportunities and risk items, and negotiate vendor/subcontractor quotations to optimize job costs.

Key Requirements

  • •Associates or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, with 3-5 years of estimating/engineering/construction management experience (or 5-7 years in controls field) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • •Experience estimating, engineering, and construction management; familiarity with interpreting construction documents including plans, details, and specifications.
  • •Experience with Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or HVAC Systems (preferred).
  • •Working knowledge of construction disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) with strong financial and business acumen and ability to run projects on time and on budget.
  • •Ability to travel locally and possess a valid driver’s license; flexibility to work outside normal hours as required.
