Job Summary

Join the Data Platform team to help build the next generation cloud-native distributed analytical database. You’ll design and develop kernel modules and core features for distributed OLAP systems, conduct research to evolve database and data management technologies, and tackle complex problems on large-scale high-performance cloud infrastructure. You’ll also partner with other teams to deliver backend support for cloud-native database services.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop kernel modules or core features for cloud-native distributed analytical database systems.
•Conduct research on database and data management technology evolution and identify future directions.
•Solve unique and complex problems on large-scale, high-performance cloud infrastructure.
•Partner with different teams to build backend support for cloud-native database services.

Key Requirements

•Completing or recently completed a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
•Experience with at least one system programming language such as C++ or Rust.
•Research or deep working experience with OLAP databases and data management systems (e.g., query processing, query optimization, storage, hardware acceleration).
•Experience with open-source and industry databases/data management systems such as Velox, DataFusion, DuckDB, Polars, ClickHouse, Spark, or Presto.
•Ability to contribute to open-source communities with creativity and strong problem-solving.
