Key Responsibilities

  • •Practice within the regulator Scope of Practice, ensuring completion of required competencies and clinical privileging before direct patient care
  • •Provide safe care during antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and newborn periods, including deliveries and related obstetric procedures within scope
  • •Monitor labouring mothers, perform CTG monitoring, interpret fetal heart rate findings, and recognize when to escalate to the obstetrician
  • •Provide immediate post-delivery care for mother and newborn, including placental examination, blood loss assessment, newborn care steps, and escalation as needed
  • •Assess and implement patient medical plans, record and escalate abnormalities, maintain life support capability, and educate mothers and families

Key Requirements

  • •Appropriate license to work as a registered nurse with relevant qualifications and experience as mandated by the relevant regulatory health authority
  • •Manage own professional re-licensure
  • •Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card
  • •Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)
  • •Be willing to work across departments when necessary
