Job Summary

Monitor plant systems and component performance, assist with starting, operating, and stopping the plant, and respond to alarms and abnormal or emergency conditions with corrective actions. Carry out routine plant maintenance and basic mechanical work, adjust control systems to regulate gas turbine load, perform testing, and support preventive/predictive maintenance records, equipment files, and safe, efficient plant operations at the Aurora facility.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform “Auxiliary Operator” duties, including assisting with starting, operating, and stopping the plant and responding to abnormal/emergency conditions while meeting safety and environmental requirements.
•Continuously monitor system and component conditions to determine plant and equipment performance and report anomalies to the Control Room Operator, Maintenance, or Direct Manager.
•Operate plant equipment to meet dispatch requirements and assist in acceptance/performance testing for plant equipment.
•Adjust control systems to regulate load on the gas turbines and maintain proper operating conditions.
•Perform basic mechanical maintenance and routine tasks such as preventive/predictive maintenance, replacing parts, repacking bearings, and maintaining equipment files/logs and working locations.

Key Requirements

•High school graduate or equivalent, plus trade school and/or technical training (including related military training).
•Experience with mechanical, electrical, or PLC troubleshooting and repair is a plus, but not required.

•Basic math skills and good verbal communication skills; proficient with power and precision tools.
•Ability to follow safety precautions for power plant equipment operations and respond to audio alarms and sound variations.
