Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead or co-own high-speed aero and aerothermal design activities for hypersonic and atmospheric entry vehicles, including vehicle shaping, stability, and thermal environment definition.
  • •Predict and analyze aerodynamic heating environments (convective and radiative where relevant) using engineering heating methods and higher-fidelity aerothermal analysis as needed.
  • •Develop and evaluate Thermal Protection System (TPS) concepts, materials, architectures, and margins in partnership with materials and structures.
  • •Perform or closely support trajectory-coupled aerothermal environment prediction and vehicle performance assessments for entry, descent, re-entry, and hypersonic mission conditions.
  • •Build and maintain engineering models, run trade studies, document assumptions/margins/recommendations, and help establish and execute aerothermal/TPS test and validation with correlation to evidence.
