Job Summary

Staff Geotechnical Engineer role supporting civil and infrastructure projects in Utah and beyond. You will lead field explorations, data collection, analysis, and reporting; develop soil/rock properties; integrate geotechnical results into civil designs with multidisciplinary teams; prepare technical proposals and permits; and provide construction support from field and office teams, advancing hands-on design and field experience on meaningful infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct geotechnical field explorations, construction observation, collect geotechnical samples, reporting of daily field operations, review of geotechnical data, perform geotechnical analysis, and report writing.
•Develop material properties for soil and rock and evaluate the stability of slopes and foundations.
•Prepare drafts of portions of technical proposals, reports, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents.
•Coordinate and integrate geotechnical evaluations results into civil design through the collaboration of other geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs.
•Develop tangible engineering design skills through field experience, including construction support, site inspections, and adapting designs to field conditions.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 75,000 - 115,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
•Valid driver's license that allows you to drive during the course of your employment.
•PE license or the capability to obtain said license within six (6) months of employment.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
•Demonstrated experience with geotechnical software.
