Job Summary

Provide perioperative nursing care for trauma and emergency surgical patients, supporting pre-op preparation, intra-op assistance, and post-op recovery. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, recovery staff, and allied professionals to ensure aseptic, infection-control–compliant care. Prepare and manage surgical instruments, equipment, implants, and consumables, and monitor/document vital signs and clinical status throughout the perioperative journey. Support quality improvement and patient/family education in Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for trauma and emergency surgical patients, covering pre-op preparation through post-operative recovery.
•Assist surgeons and the multidisciplinary team during trauma/emergency procedures while ensuring aseptic and infection control standards.
•Prepare, check, and manage surgical instruments, equipment, implants, and consumables to maintain theatre readiness.
•Monitor and document patients’ clinical status and vital signs throughout the perioperative journey, escalating concerns as appropriate.
•Maintain accurate clinical documentation, support quality improvement/infection prevention initiatives, and provide patient/family education.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
•Valid DOH, DHA, or MOH license, or DOH Eligibility.
•Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Theatre experience, preferably supporting trauma, emergency, or acute surgical procedures.
•Current BLS and ACLS certification.
•Experience in managing trauma cases, emergency surgeries, and multidisciplinary surgical teams is an advantage.
