Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and operate AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL) in a high-load production environment.
  • •Design and evolve schemas for large transactional domains (payments, customers, subscriptions, events), including partitioning and advanced indexing.
  • •Analyze and optimize slow queries and production metrics (lock contention, vacuum/autovacuum, connection pool saturation, long-running queries).
  • •Build high-performance internal search solutions for operational datasets and support transactional vs analytical storage decisions.
  • •Ensure data integrity and reliability for financial workflows, defining database health metrics and executing safe schema changes/migrations and incident analysis.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production.
  • •Experience managing large databases (hundreds of millions of rows or more).
  • •Solid understanding of indexing, query planners/execution paths, and transactions (isolation levels and locking).
  • •Experience working with AWS infrastructure, ideally AWS Aurora.
  • •Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex database performance issues.
