Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform DBA activities remotely with customers around the world.
  • •Automate DBA tasks and set up monitoring, periodic health checks, and reports on customer systems.
  • •Perform upgrades, configure and monitor backups, and assist with recoveries as needed.
  • •Manage SkySQL customers across cloud environments and provide coverage during designated schedules and on-call needs.
  • •Help the MariaDB team build tools and enhancements for the Remote DBA team and improve shared practices and methodologies.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience with MariaDB/MySQL and surrounding tools.
  • •Strong knowledge of SQL query writing and optimization.
  • •Understanding of database design, administration, development, or architecture.
  • •Very strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with effective customer communication and follow-up.
  • •Comfortable working remotely with equipment provided and ability to help guarantee customer SLAs (including on-call as needed).
