Job Summary

Data Center Technician role within AMD’s Data Center Platform Engineering Group, responsible for hardware startups/shutdowns, diagnostics, grounding and cabling, and quality checks in customer data centers. You’ll maintain documentation, contribute to knowledge bases, and collaborate with internal/external teams to ensure safe, efficient server deployments and ongoing operational support in a fast-paced, globally-focused data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs data center hardware startups and shutdowns according to checklists and standard protocols; guides other technicians to complete tasks
•Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting to quickly identify root causes and replace faulty components with minimal disruption
•Performs post-execution quality checks ensuring proper grounding, labeling, and cabling according to safety and deployment standards
•Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures with minimal guidance
•Collaborates with team to communicate, escalate incidents, and contribute to knowledge sharing to improve future deployments

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree
•Strong technical skills in hardware, IT and cabling management
•Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive attitude
•Ability to document processes and contribute to knowledge bases (KBs, SOPs)
•Customer-facing experience and ability to lead initiatives to completion
