Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Support services that include one-on-one counseling, consultation with a commander or other providers, briefings/presentations, and referral resources.
  • •Develop and make available informational financial materials and assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle and respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
  • •Coordinate with installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program stays within scope and meets installation needs, including managing duty to warn situations and participating in supervision/training activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •If required by the contract, be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • •Obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process; hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
