Job Summary

Build and operate highly reliable edge services on ByteDance’s hybrid CDN platform, integrating global infrastructure like POPs, load balancers, and public cloud. Architect and implement solutions for internal and external customers, create monitoring/automation to optimize performance, and define procedures to improve efficiency and compliance. Conduct vulnerability and capacity assessments and develop disaster recovery strategies, participating in technical operations rotations to address performance and reliability issues.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect and implement solutions that enable internal and external customers to use ByteDance’s globally scaled content delivery network.
•Build metrics, tools, automations, visualizations, and monitors to operate and optimize edge services.
•Develop procedures and workflows to improve operational efficiency, trust, and compliance.
•Run vulnerability and capacity assessments and develop disaster recovery strategies for high availability of global CDN services.
•Participate in technical operations and rotations to respond to performance and reliability issues.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
•At least 2 years of experience in CDN performance engineering, solution architecting, or site reliability engineering roles.
•At least 2 years of experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, or Go, plus scripting in Shell and Python.
•Experience operating in a multi-CDN environment.
•Experience with networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS in a carrier-grade environment.
