Job Summary

Consultant for fire protection and life safety engineering leading complex computer fire and egress modeling projects (FDS, CONTAM, Pathfinder) and performance-based design analyses for multiple US office locations. You’ll develop code-compliant solutions, interface with clients and officials, and contribute to smoke control and life safety strategies while advancing design methodologies in a collaborative, growing team.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development and execution of complex computer fire and egress modeling projects, performance-based design analyses, smoke control analyses, and related fire protection and life safety strategies.
•Interface with other WSP team members, clients, and Building/Fire Officials to provide expert technical guidance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
•Stay current with evolving building codes and contribute to company-wide strategies for code compliance across a range of occupancy types.
•Maintain a deep understanding of industry best practices, codes, regulations, and emerging trends in fire protection and life safety engineering to ensure project excellence.
•Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and technological advancements to enhance the quality of fire protection and life safety solutions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
•Experience with FDS, CONTAM, and Pathfinder modeling
•EIT or FE Certification
•3-5 years of proven experience in the fire protection and life safety industry
•Deep understanding of Building and Fire Codes, Standards, and Regulations (IBC, NFPA, UFC, OBO, etc.)
