Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and sequence appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and other applicable codes for documented diagnoses and procedures.
  • •Validate that final diagnoses and operative procedures are valid, accurate, and complete, and ensure appropriate documentation consistency and adequacy.
  • •Abstract relevant medical record details to identify secondary complications, co-morbidities, and other reportable conditions.
  • •Assign and validate DRG codes for inpatient cases and ensure correct Evaluation and Management (E&M) levels using appropriate CPT codes.
  • •Provide training and guidance to medical coding staff, keep them updated on coding rules and HAAD directives, and follow OSH and infection control requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • •Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
  • •Valid AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
  • •Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • •Excellent command of spoken and written English.
