Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on schedule while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer for loading/unloading; follow loading crew signals and assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment.
  • •Maintain and deliver required documentation (invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other paperwork).
  • •Perform routine service checks and arrange trailers in shipping yards; report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold either a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or a chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing, including a DOT physical for trucks over 10k lbs.
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds, and manage prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab; travel frequently.
  • •Physical requirements include maneuvering for loading/unloading and performing routine checks like oil, water, gasoline, and air; reporting maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.
