Job Summary

Lead technical delivery for mining infrastructure projects, focusing on pumping systems and pipeline networks, including water/slurry/dewatering systems. Define system philosophy, perform hydraulic analysis and pipeline stress and integrity reviews, and produce design deliverables from BoD to PFDs/P&IDs and specifications. Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and contractors across Australia and India, while mentoring engineers and ensuring compliance with WSP and relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design and analysis of pumping systems and pipeline/network systems, including system philosophy, operating scenarios, and overpressure/surge protection.
•Provide technical assurance and review of key pipeline deliverables such as route selection, feasibility studies, material selection, wall thickness, stress analysis, and integrity management.
•Undertake and lead pipeline design work across concept to detailed phases, including process descriptions/design basis, material balances, equipment lists/datasheets, and design calculations.
•Perform and validate hydraulic modelling and reporting (including PumpSim or equivalent), including flow scenarios, pipe sizing, pressure rating, and component class selection.
•Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, support proposals and estimates, and mentor junior pipeline engineers/designers to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.

Key Requirements

•13-16 years of experience in process engineering.
•Bachelor’s degree (minimum) with a preferred master’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering.
•Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
•Experience with pumping systems and pipeline networks, including hydraulic design and system analysis.
•Familiarity with working in a LEAN environment; excellent written and verbal English communication.
