Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead daily second-line oversight of electronic trading activities across APAC markets, including analysis of breaches, rejections, exceptions, and connectivity events.
  • •Assess algo behavior and order flow in APAC market structure contexts, proactively reviewing implications of market structure and exchange rule changes before they take effect.
  • •Partner with Trading, Quantitative Strategies, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and other control functions as part of day-to-day risk oversight and operational collaboration.
  • •Own the risk team’s assessment of upcoming exchange and ATS changes (rule changes, venue launches, capacity updates, tick size/auction mechanism changes) and determine whether algo risk controls remain appropriate.
  • •Review testing and change management for algo releases/control changes, conduct post-event analysis of incidents, and drive regional remediation consistent with global standards.

Key Requirements

  • •VP or SVP level leadership experience in electronic trading, algo risk, or market structure in APAC markets (minimum 5 years).
  • •Deep knowledge of APAC exchange and ATS market structure, including trading mechanisms, connectivity, and throughput/capacity requirements across at least two of Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, or India.
  • •Working knowledge of algo systems architecture, order routing logic, trading infrastructure, order lifecycle, and microstructure in APAC contexts.
  • •Familiarity with APAC algo trading regulatory requirements (SFC, FSA, ASIC, SEBI) with ability to track and interpret regulatory/exchange developments.
  • •Exposure to FIX protocol, execution logs, and connectivity behavior in APAC venue environments, plus strong analytical/quantitative skills with SQL and Python.
