Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop innovative RF concepts and proof-of-concept demonstrators to investigate new technologies and capabilities.
  • •Design, simulate, prototype, and test discrete RF circuits and integrate them into wider communication systems.
  • •Perform feasibility studies using analysis, modelling, rapid prototyping, and experimental evaluation.
  • •Explore emerging RF technologies and assess their suitability for Thales products and solutions.
  • •Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while owning individual research activities and adapting to new technical challenges.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong understanding of RF engineering principles with hands-on design of discrete RF circuits in the VHF or UHF bands (filters, LNAs, PAs, VCOs).
  • •Experience using RF simulation tools such as ADS (PathWave), Microwave Office, or HFSS.
  • •Experience with PCB CAD tools, preferably Cadence, and knowledge of Altium, OrCAD, or KiCAD.
  • •Familiarity with RF laboratory equipment and standard RF test techniques including VNA, spectrum analysers, and signal generators.
  • •Experience in military communications or tactical radio systems, RF integration/debugging/verification, RF system architecture, and/or higher-frequency RF (S/C/X-band), radar, electronic warfare, or antenna design; Python/C/MATLAB/VHDL and broader hardware design are advantageous.
