Job Summary

Design, update, and program firmware for defined portions and subsystems, using knowledge of overall product architecture to plan coding, programming, and integration activities. Create and run testing plans, protocols, and documentation, debugging and solving code and integration issues. Lead a team of firmware engineers and coordinate with internal and outsourced partners to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions, representing the firmware engineering team across complex project phases while mentoring less-experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

•Design enhancement, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of firmware.
•Analyze design to determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on overall product architecture.
•Write and execute testing plans, protocols, and documentation; debug code and resolve integration issues.
•Lead a project team of firmware engineers and coordinate with internal and outsourced development partners to deliver high-quality solutions for assigned system portions.
•Collaborate with management and partners on firmware design status and project progress, and provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
•Typically 6-9 years of experience.
•Expertise in multiple firmware design tools and languages.
•Designing firmware with interaction and integration with hardware design.
•Firmware testing methodology, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and testing scripts/tools.
