Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle in compliance with applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on schedule while following traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Coordinate loading and unloading, including maneuvering truck and trailer, following loading crew signals, and using specialized equipment when needed.
  • •Maintain and deliver required delivery documentation (invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other paperwork) and return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Perform routine service checks (e.g., oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor. Arrange trailers for optimum yard loading.
  • •Facilitates on-call scheduling when subject to on-call requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle’s weight.
  • •Pass background and drug testing per federal/state DOT regulations, and complete a DOT physical (trucks over 10k lbs).
  • •Be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills when speaking professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Meet physical requirements: prolonged sitting in a trailer cab, lifting/moving up to 40 pounds, and ability to travel frequently.
