Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft and negotiate blanket/full-catalogue licence agreements with record labels, aggregators, music publishers, and collecting societies in the UK & EU.
  • •Draft and negotiate license agreements and provide guidance for independent artists, distribution partnerships, and artist/record label services agreements for SoundOn.
  • •Provide cross-functional legal guidance on music rights implications for new product/service initiatives and commercial partnerships.
  • •Work with product and business teams to clear rights for marketing, promotion, streaming events, including synchronization agreements and artist performance agreements.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified lawyer in the UK or an EU jurisdiction.
  • •Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating music rights and talent/artist agreements, including digital music licensing for or with digital service providers and rightsholders.
  • •Experience from a leading law firm, music rightsholder, UGC platform, digital platform, media company, or music service.
  • •Strong analytical, communication, drafting, and negotiation skills to assess and communicate legal and business risks and trade-offs.
  • •Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize, and work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
