Key Responsibilities

  • •Set the direction for Data Foundations by turning ambiguous company and customer needs into a multi-quarter strategy across the data lake, streaming, distributed compute, governance, and reliability.
  • •Build and develop a high-performing team by setting expectations, growing technical leaders, and creating an ownership-focused environment with feedback and accountability.
  • •Lead the team’s hardest initiatives from idea to operation, de-risking architectures through prototypes and coordinating execution across engineers and partner teams.
  • •Make the data platform enterprise-ready, including external key management, data residency, access controls, lifecycle management, and governance.
  • •Raise reliability, simplicity, and cost efficiency by identifying risks, establishing service ownership, and leading migrations to operate Kafka, Debezium, S3/Iceberg, Spark, EMR, Athena, and related systems at scale.
