Senior flood modelling specialist leading hydraulic and water quality modelling projects for flood risk assessments and design of flood alleviation schemes. Key Responsibilities

•Developing and checking hydraulic models using software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11, Mike 21, HEC-RAS and ICM to support Flood Alleviation Schemes, Flood Risk Assessments and reservoir studies
•Develop water quality models (physico-chemical, biological, bacterial or chemical) using industry standard software (MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM)
•Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches considering risks and opportunities for each project
•Undertake and check hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP
•Lead and input into tenders ranging from one-off projects to multimillion-pound framework contracts

Key Requirements

•Significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (e.g., Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller, and/or TUFLOW)
•Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for flood models used in flood risk assessments
•Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and regulatory standards for fresh waters
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline; professional qualification with CIWEM or equivalent preferred
