Key Responsibilities

  • •Own scraping, chat-processing, source-ingestion, and analytics infrastructure to improve reliability, performance, and cost.
  • •Debug provider outages and production incidents end-to-end across application code, logs, metrics, queues, databases, and deployment state.
  • •Design and implement durable queueing and failure-handling (backpressure, retries, idempotency, distributed locks, safe parsers).
  • •Ship backend service changes in TypeScript, including infrastructure-adjacent improvements that affect customer safety and cost.
  • •Write clear postmortems/follow-up tickets and improve observability so the next engineer can quickly act.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering experience in production.
  • •Deep hands-on TypeScript experience designing clean, reliable backend systems (services run on Bun).
  • •Strong understanding of queues, workers, retries, rate limits, idempotency, distributed locks, webhooks, and failure handling.
  • •Experience operating systems under production pressure (incidents, provider outages, customer escalations, noisy alerts, slow dependencies, incomplete data).
  • •Comfort with cloud-native infrastructure and debugging across layers (code, logs, metrics, queues, provider APIs, databases, network, deployment state).
