Job Summary

Design and build backend services and APIs that power Trust & Care capabilities and core platform experiences for users in China. Improve scalability, reliability, performance, and observability of critical services, while developing systems for safety, trust, compliance, and operational workflows. Partner with product, design, data science, operations, and engineering to translate user needs and regulatory requirements into high-impact projects. Mentor engineers and drive resilient, long-term platform architecture.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs powering Trust & Care capabilities for users in China.
•Develop scalable systems supporting platform safety, trust, compliance, and operational workflows.
•Partner with product, designers, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams to understand user needs and regulatory requirements.
•Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and observability of critical backend services for the China platform.
•Lead technical discovery, architecture design, and implementation of high-impact projects; mentor engineers through code reviews and technical discussions.

Key Requirements

•Strong backend development experience, ideally with Java or similar languages.
•Experience building reliable, maintainable, and scalable distributed systems.
•Experience with service-to-service APIs, data enrichment pipelines, or intelligent routing systems.
•A product mindset with empathy for end users and internal support specialists.
•Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams.
