Lead production reliability initiatives in Canva’s large-scale distributed infrastructure. •Defining the engagement model: shape how Production Engineering pairs with product and infrastructure teams, scope engagements, and define handoffs.
•Leading the hardest engagements: own technically complex areas (sharding, multi-region architecture, JVM performance at scale).
•Setting the technical bar: define Canva’s production engineering standards and credibility benchmarks.
•Pairing strategy across the team: design how staff and mid-level engineers are paired and what they learn from engagements.
•Connecting to the product roadmap: work with engineering leadership to ensure production readiness is upstream of shipping features.
