Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle systems including electrical/brake/cooling systems, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Independently determine parts required per job and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department and Service Writer to assess customer needs.
  • •Document repairs on Repair Orders using a company device and/or Karmak application, including completing DOT forms and maintaining accurate findings.
  • •Follow safe operating practices and comply with OSHA/EPA/DOT and company safety policies; assist with cleanup and support technicians with diagnostics.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent combination such as a certification/degree plus 3 years experience, or 7 years experience).
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • •Obtain/present ASE 608/609 certification.
  • •Possess a set of hand tools necessary for the role.
  • •Be at least 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations.
