Job Summary

Support mine engineering under the Chief Engineer by leading long- and short-range mine production planning, development and infrastructure design, and mine ventilation planning. Assist with ground control and ground support engineering, surveying, production quantity calculations, and month-end production reporting. Coordinate with long-range planning, geology, survey, and mine operations, while overseeing projects, assisting budgets and cost tracking, and ensuring deliverables meet time and quality expectations while complying with MSHA and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform short-range mine planning, including development design (drift & fill, UCB, long-hole stope, backfill) and scheduling.
•Coordinate short- and long-range planning inputs with geology, survey, and mine operations, and reconcile plan vs. actual.
•Oversee projects and assist with budget preparation, cost estimates, and cost tracking.
•Support ground control and ground support engineering design and implementation (including rock bolting methods and shotcrete) and optimize explosives utilization and storage.
•Plan and coordinate surveys, tests, and investigations; collect and interpret data and present recommendations, executive summaries, and cost estimates to senior staff.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mine engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
•Professional Engineer designation preferred.
•Experience in mining, metallurgy, or mineral processing (or equivalent education and experience).
•1-7 years of experience in mining engineering required.
•Supervision experience or experience directing the work of others preferred.
