Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead, build, and support a team to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
  • •Develop plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, and presentation materials for projects.
  • •Serve in various project roles (project manager, technical leader, expert advisor, quality control) on traffic/ITS projects.
  • •Provide technical leadership and supervision of small-to-large tasks, including reviewing junior staff work and documentation.
  • •Coordinate with internal discipline groups and external clients/sub-consultants and deliver assigned tasks on schedule and within budget, with little supervision.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related) and minimum 8 years of related experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Experience with traffic engineering projects and clients in Iowa and/or Nebraska.
  • •Familiarity with traffic operational analysis (traffic projections, analysis, simulation), safety analysis, and traffic signal/pedestrian control analysis and design.
  • •Experience with ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process and local client requirements.
  • •Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) experience and/or a Professional Engineer license in Iowa or Nebraska (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
